Common questions

Quick answers before you ask.

What production volumes does Gebrema run?

From 500,000 to 250,000,000+ pieces per year, per customer, on dedicated machine capacity. We are best suited to long-term, repeat production past the prototype phase, not one-offs or constantly changing specifications.

What diameter and length range can you turn?

Rotary transfer runs ⌀3 to 11 mm, the envelope for connectors, spacers, contact pins and fastener-type parts. Above that, to ⌀26 mm and up to 200 mm in length, parts run on CNC turning.

Which materials and alloys do you machine?

Brass (CuZn39Pb3 CW614N, CuZn40Pb2 CW617N, CuZn37 CW508L), lead-free brass (CuZn42 CW510L, CuZn40 CW509L and bismuth-brass), free-cutting steel (11SMnPb30, 11SMnPb37), lead-free steel (11SMn30, 11SMn37) and stainless steel (1.4305). Gebrema is at the forefront of lead-free brass production.

Is Gebrema certified, and how is RoHS and REACH compliance handled?

Yes. Gebrema is ISO 9001:2015 certified and consistently passes customer quality audits run to automotive industry standards. Lead-free grades are RoHS Conform. Material certificates and certificates of conformity are available on request, if requested before the order.

Is there a minimum order or minimum volume?

Gebrema is built for high-volume, repeat production. Rotary transfer suits 500,000 or more pieces per year. For lower volumes, new product introductions or ramp-up, our CNC turning runs from 10,000 pieces per part number, within an annual programme of at least 50,000 pieces. Below 50,000 pieces a year we do not quote.

How fast do you respond, and how quickly can a part reach full volume?

We respond to a drawing and annual volume within one business day. From approved sample to full volume takes weeks, not months, with PPAP, APQP and FAIR support.
