Electrofusion welding is a critical step in building the underground piping systems that carry water, gas, and other essential utilities. At Gebrema we manufacture the high-precision contact pins that carry the welding current: a small part on which the whole weld depends.

Why reliable contact pins matter.

During electrofusion, current passes through metal coils embedded in plastic fittings, generating the heat that melts and fuses the surrounding pipe. The contact pins carry that current, and if they fail, the weld fails. Your fitting design sets what the pin has to be; we machine to it, piece after piece:

  • Dimensionally precise to your drawing, for a secure connection with the welding equipment
  • Mechanically stable, as field installation demands
  • Surface-clean and consistent, as reliable current flow and even heat distribution require
  • Stable, high-volume production capacity

Used in critical infrastructure.

The plastic piping systems joined by electrofusion welding run through municipal water networks, natural gas distribution, sewage and stormwater systems, and industrial fluid handling. These networks are usually buried underground and designed to last for decades.
